Our Team

Founder – Anthony Wang

Hey! My name is Anthony Wang and I’m a current senior at Mercer Island High School in Seattle, Washington. I started working in politics by canvassing for my local politicians, before eventually being elected as one of the chairs of the Washington HS Democrats and the chair of the national LGBTQ+ Caucus of the HS Democrats of America. Much of my work has been focused on rights-based initiatives, including helping others find the resources to live in communities that support them. I started this organization to provide a service for a community that has been so supportive and welcoming of my identity, and hope that it can help out the people that use it.

Co-Founder – Vin Wiemelt

Hi, my name is Vin Wiemelt, and I’m the co-founder of Bridge to Pride. As someone who found strength and self-discovery within the LGBTQ+ community, I’m passionate about creating tools to help others navigate their own journeys. My work began with advocacy through HS Democrats, where I serve as the Outreach Director for the LGBTQ+ Caucus, and by writing for mental health and LGBTQ+ rights, amplifying queer voices across the country. I’ve seen firsthand how access to the right resources can make a world of difference, and I helped start Bridge to Pride to provide a space where young people can find support, encouragement, and guidance. I hope it serves as a bridge to the confidence and community that every person deserves.

Board Member – Fiona Wu

Hey there! I’m Fiona, a board member for Bridge to Pride and a junior at Claremont High School in Southern California. I’m really passionate about all things civics and activism. I got my start in the activism world by piloting a Get Out the vote curriculum across Southern california, and working with IGNITE and the League of Women Voters to get young people in the political space. A key space for activism is within the LGBTQ+ community and I find true importance in ensuring the accessibility of resources for the community. I’ve seen firsthand how life-changing any support can be and am excited to build the platform in Bridge to Pride!
