  • PROMO
    As Missouri’s statewide LGBTQ+ public policy and advocacy organization, PROMO has been defending the community’s rights and fighting to expand protections for over 35 years. They mobilize thousands of Missourians—LGBTQ+ supporters, business and community leaders, legislators, and people from all backgrounds—to advocate and utilize their voices in the halls of the Missouri State Capitol and within their own communities.

    The American Civil Liberties Union of Missouri defends and promotes the civil liberties and rights of all Missouri residents, including LGBTQ+ individuals, through litigation, advocacy, and public education.

Community Centers and Support Groups

  • The Center Project (Columbia)
    Mid-Missouri’s LGBTQ+ community center provides a safe, affirming space to learn, grow, build community, and access support and resources. They offer community resources like a curated library, a gender-affirming healthcare provider list, a closet with free clothing for LGBTQIA+ folks in need, and supportive programming and activities for LGBTQIA+ youth, parents, and transgender and non-binary adults.

    Provides support, education, and advocacy for parents, families, friends, and allies of LGBTQ+ individuals, hosting regular meetings and offering resources for families and youth.

  • St. Louis Queer+ Support Helpline (SQSH)
    A grassroots, queer-led collective dedicated to facilitating healing spaces and building community capacity for queer St. Louis LGBTQ+ individuals to thrive. Their Peer Support Line is open Friday through Monday, 1:00-7:00 PM CT.
